What's airbrush tanning?
Airbrush tanning is the safe and healthy alternative to tan without the effects of harmful U/V rays. The tanning solution is applied directly to the skin by a technician using a compressor and airbrush system.
What's in the solution?
The tanning solutions contain the active ingredient Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which interacts with the keratin protein in the surface skin layer to produce a bronzing effect. The color of your skin will continue to darken after the initial application and will reach its maximum color in 8 hours. The solution has a bronzer that provides an immediate tan to help the technician to spray an even and complete tan. This bronzer will wash off when showering after the 8 hour period.
What is dha?
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a common sugar derived from vegetable sources, often from sugar beets or sugar cane. DHA is safe on the skin and will not affect the melanin or natural skin pigment.
How long will my spray tan last?
A typical spray tan lasts anywhere from 5 to 10 days depending on the attention to aftercare and general nature of a person's skin.
How long does a spray tan take?
The process will take about 15 minutes from beginning to end. This includes preparation, the application of the tanning solution and the drying process.
What should I wear?
Bring what you would like to be sprayed in. This can include your bathing suit, and/or disposable thongs for women. Men must bring bottoms.
Should I shower and/or wax before my session?
Yes, at least 8 hours before your session be sure to shower, exfoliate, shave and moisturize. Do not re-apply moisturizer before the appointment. Waxing should be done at least 24 hours prior. This will allow even coverage and help extend your tan to its full potential.
What should I wear to my session?
Bring or wear loose fitting clothing and what you would like to be sprayed in. The bronzer may rub off onto your clothing, but it will wash out of most fabrics. Avoid silks and nylons.
Can I wear make-up, jewelry, etc. to my session?
No. Please remove makeup, jewelry, and deodorant prior to your appointment.
How long does it take for the solution to develop?
Our signature solution takes 8 hours to fully develop (The Express solution varies from 1.5-5 hours depending on desired darkness.) During that time avoid getting wet and activity that promotes sweating. Wear loose fitting clothing.
When should I shower post-session?
Shower when the 8 hour window is up. When showering, be gentle on the skin. Apply body wash with your hand, avoid any scrubbing or exfoliating that will remove or lighten the tan. When shaving, use a sharp blade and press gently on skin.
Do I have to moisturize?
Yes. Pat skin lightly with towel to dry, moisturize while the skin is still damp. Apply a few times a day if possible.
